Design

This project entailed a planning application for change of use through permitted development which was supported by a full application for a new roof extension and remodeling of the existing facade. As well as the reconfiguration of the internal floor plans alterations a roof top extension was added to maximize the sites development potential. Alterations were required to the external envelope of the building to improve its appearance and reflect a residential typology. Final planning consent for the scheme was achieved in May 2015.

The pub, which occupies the ground floor, is to be retained as part of the development and was to remain fully operational throughout the construction phases. This provided the biggest challenge to the onsite construction works and required careful consideration of service routes running down through the building and through the tenanted space. Construction on site is progressing well with the external façade works almost complete.
