We were appointed by HG Construction to design a 125-bed luxury student accommodation scheme in Egham Hill, Surrey, Phase I of which is now complete. The scheme was commissioned to accommodate the students of Royal Holloway, University of London.
We created a highly-desirable scheme spread over four buildings adjoined around a landscaped garden area. The accommodation consists of a combination of cluster and studio rooms.
To reduce construction time and costs we used pre-fabricated bathroom pods, a process which Jefferson Sheard has implemented successfully in the past on a range of student accommodation projects, including Tufnell Park, Islington.
Prior to construction, the site consisted of two houses, one of which was home to roosting bats. To preserve the ecology of the area we worked to strict demolition and monitoring requirements.
Our appointment to carry out Phase II of this project is a testimony to the Client's satisfaction of our work on Phase I, and also to our ongoing accomplishment within this sector.
