The Jefferson Sheard designed Acre Mills Outpatients project has been awarded the Huddersfield Civic Trust Overall Winner at their annual Design Awards. Along with picking up the top architectural award the building was also named joint Best Refurbishment project.
Pictured above, Architect, Chris Race (left) picked up the awards along with Paul Gilling and Christine Bentley from client Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
The judges said: “It is an important contribution to Lindley’s heritage through the conversion and restoration of a landmark structure and important addition to the town’s medical facilities.”
“The refurbishment of the building has retained essential architectural and historic features, such as the pedimented main block, while the internal décor is lively and welcoming.”
