Jefferson Sheard Architects lands Airport Business Park project in Southend

Posted by Joe Dickeson Board Director

Jefferson Sheard Architects and Henry Boot Developments have been appointed upon an exciting master-planning opportunity for an innovative new Airport Business Park in Southend, Essex.

The proposal for the Business Park has been devised by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and Rochford District Council in their Joint Area Action Plan and involves the development of a 51 acre site adjacent to London Southend Airport into a landmark business environment.

Creating 6,000 new skilled employment opportunities in Southend and Rochford, the development will provide an exciting new community for established businesses and SMEs whilst also improving the green infrastructure through the implementation of cycle paths and green highways.

Jefferson Sheard’s London Director, Joe Dickeson, commented: ‘A great deal of work has already gone into the proposal for the business park and we’re very excited to be contributing our expertise to the project. The Council can expect a great result with Henry Boot – we look forward to another successful collaboration with our long standing client.’

Henry Boot was announced as preferred developer in November and the go-ahead has now been given to progress the master plan proposals. An outline planning application will be submitted in the second quarter of 2015, and, subject to approval construction will begin in 2016.
