Jefferson Sheard Architects are working with clients CVS Group, the UKs largest veterinary services provider, and Keele University, to design a new School of Veterinary teaching facility on the Keele campus.
The design consists of a veterinary hospital, a clinical skills centre and Veterinary School hub facilities all combined in one triangular building, formed around a central courtyard space. The exterior copper cladding and generous glazed entrance atrium create a modern flexible space which offers an impressive gateway to the new facility.
Chris Race, Jefferson Sheard Project Architect and Healthcare Lead said “We relish the opportunity to bring together our experience and skills gained in delivering Veterinary facilities for CVS throughout the UK, combined with our years of producing flagship higher education buildings, to create something truly special for our clients and deliver the highest standard learning environment for the students.”
Simon Innes, CEO at CVS Group commented, “This is a major innovative partnership between CVS Group and Keele University which will enable the parties to work together to deliver a quality building of architectural and clinical merit of which we can all be proud, and which will serve Harper and Keele Veterinary School students and also veterinary surgeons and enable them to co-exist as well as enabling us to help to grow new vets for the future.”
Planning permission has been granted for the scheme located on the Keele University Science and Innovation Park, and it is anticipated the building will be ready for students in late 2020.
