We were commissioned to design an exciting yet cost effective design for a new, forward-looking and progressive sports and learning facility.
Central to the College's requirements was an affordable design that addressed key learning issues, such as the lack of on-site sporting facilties. The new facilties also aimed to provide a morale boosting development for the College and the Community, raising the profile of the College.
The new centre was designed to support students studying Sports and Public Services, Dance, Science, Animal Care & Management and Horticulture. The ‘Inspire Centre’ offers new teaching classrooms, sport and science laboratories and a high-tech learning resource centre along with brand new sports facilities including a sports hall with fitness suite, dance studio and a 3G all-weather pitch.
An exciting new Entrance and Atrium space, connecting new and old facilities, and providing a new presence to the College and an out of hours reception to the sporting facilities.
The building design has been developed to include environmentally aware and low carbon technologies, including: natural ventilation; air source heat pumps; “wind catcher” technology; reuse of existing materials and energy monitoring.
